Born and raised in rural Tennessee, Shelby was the youngest sibling of four. She is married and has three grown children and is a loving grandmother of eight, ranging from infant through 13 years of age. She first became published in 1988. Shelby is a novelist, a freelance journalist, a published poet and former writing instructor. She is a member of Romance Writers of America, RWA Online and RWA Mystery Suspense chapters. Her debut novel The Bodyguard is available now through www.whiskeycreekpress.com. She has seven other completed books in various stages of the editing process and many works in progress. Shelby has written dozens of personal essays.
